Nestled up on the North Norfolk coast just 2 miles from Cromer, you’ll find the pretty cliff-top village of Overstrand. The village once had a modest fishing industry and a few fishing boats are still based here. Just a 4-minute walk from our holiday cottage 2B Harbord Road, you’ll find the wonderfully long stretch of Overstrand beach backed with pretty beach huts. The sand is soft making it perfect for a spot of sandcastle building.
Overstrand Village
Overstrand village boasts a couple of eateries, both within easy walking distance of our holiday accommodation. The White Horse is a lively pub in the centre of the village and prides itself on local produce. With beautiful gardens and a fantastic children’s play area to keep the little ones occupied while you take a moment to sit back and relax.
The Cliff Top Cafe is another good choice for delicious food, with the added bonus of being able to enjoy fantastic views over the sea.
In the centre of the village, we are lucky to have a convenience store, Central Overstrand Stores with all the usual supplies plus it incorporates a post office too.

Walk from Overstrand to Cromer
From Overstrand, you can join the stunning Norfolk Coastal Path. Walking west, you can follow the path for 2 miles into the seaside town of Cromer. Renowned for its Cromer crabs, something you will find on the menu in many of the local restaurants. Cromer is a bustling town with plenty of shops and a historic Pier with its own Pavilion Theatre.
The cliff-top path offers excellent views over the sea and can be varied by walking along the beach on the way back or vice versa. Don’t forget to look out for the wildlife nestled in the cliffs on the beach walk!
